Q: How does process of building an Elite System work?
A: It is a simple, although different, process for buying a computer. Once we recive your quote request we contact you for some additional information for your custom build. With your information will give you a selection of cases to choose from. Then we determine the best parts available for your budget, and provide you a private web page with your custom quote, computer spec & product images. From there you can complete your system purchase.
Q: Why do we charge a quote fee?
A: It takes roughly 3hrs on average to complete a custom quote. The fee pays for a portion of the time involved to do the research, find the best parts, and communicate with the customer.
Q: Why are there no preset prices for a computer system?
A: We build each system from scratch. We do not keep a parts inventory so we can offer the latest and lowest prices.
Q: Why does Elite Systems not keep a parts inventory?
A: Keeping a parts inventory locks us into selling a part for what we paid for it when we paid for it.
Example: A video card last year cost $199, this year its purchased for $69. The latest price is always less.
Q: Why is the budget field blank?
A: The filed is blank so the customer can provide us with a budget in which to build the quote.
For example: A customer wishes to build a computer for $900, we build the absolute best computer for
that dollar amount.
Q: What is the difference in build type?
A: Complete Custom Build: System is ordered, built, and tested for 48hrs at our build center before delivery
Parts Only: System quote is delivered with a shopping cart link for the customer to order the parts only. Customer will need assemble the system themselves or by a 3rd party.
Q: Why would you offer a Parts Only option and why would someone pay for a Parts Only quote?
A: We put in the same amount of time and effort to assemble both quote options.
Paying for a Parts Only quote is a benefit in three major ways;
- You gain our expertise & knowledge in choosing High quality components.
- It removes the time, guesswork, and other factors of building a PC such as determining part compatibility, performance, reliability, & cost.
- No build fee. Complete Custom Builds take time, we charge a flat fee to build, test and deliver a computer. Doing it yourself saves you that fee.
Q: What is the difference with the Energy Efficiency option?
A: Computer systems can be build utilizing a low power ultra efficient design. It is entirely possible to build a system that uses as little power as possible without sacrifiing performance. The parts cost a little more, but you will recoup those costs within the first year in power savings over a standard system. Some systems cannot be build with the energy efficiency option such as cutting edge gaming systems.
Q: How long will it take to be contacted after submitting my quote request?
A: We typically contact you within 1 business day of your request to get any additional information about your custom system needs.
